“I feel so angry about everything! Why?”
There could be many reasons why you feel angry about everything. Are you in pain, are you struggling in life and others aren’t, are you tired and drained? Is there something that has recently happened that has potentially caused this anger? Anger is a normal emotion following a life change but should pass.
Sometimes, continually being angry is an indicator of depression, or an anxiety disorder. Being angry is the fight in ‘flight fight freeze’ reflex actions. Anger can also be extremely tiring, masking the anger – suppressing it for the environment but feeling like a volcano ready to burst – takes additional energy. It can also have an impact on your physical health with the stress chemicals all around your body.
I recommend that you talk about how you’re feeling with someone who will be able to listen to you without judgement. Perhaps write down what is making you angry and see if there is a pattern. If the anger is continuing then seek professional advice from your GP or a mental health professional who will be able to help you process your anger and suggest if it requires additional support.
